What happens when getting ready for Mass turns into a musical mess? That’s exactly what happens in our new animation — The Giggles & Grace Show! Watch it now below and join the fun.
Let’s make a sing-along!
We had a wonderful time creating short musical animations, from the Praying with Angels to the Praying with Saints series. The Giggles & Grace episode came to life when we had the idea of creating fun sing-along videos for kids!
All about gratitude
We went through so many iterations of this sing-along. What should this fun sing-along be about? What do kids need? What would be beneficial for families?
In the end, we decided to start with gratitude.
The composers, Eva and Paul, were able to take that one idea of “a fun sing-along about gratitude” and run with it! They composed this fun, joyful song where anyone can join in! We promise you’ll be humming it well after you’ve watched it the first time.
Who is this family?
For the visuals, a number of ideas were tossed around. The song follows a family getting ready for Mass. How many people are in this family? Where do they live? What will the house look like? What will the church they go to be like? Creating a new animated short involves a lot of creativity.
Everything goes wrong
It wasn’t until we were storyboarding that we came up with the idea to have EVERYTHING go wrong:
falling down first thing in the morning
getting your comb stuck in your hair
kids having a food fight, and…
the car breaking down on the way to Mass.
Things go wrong for everyone from time to time, and if you have little ones, this may be more often than not. It is always going to be messy getting to Mass. We wanted to share this common weekly routine, different for everyone, but still familiar messiness for all. And through it all, praising God.
Thank you, Lord!
It’s a nice reminder to kids, and parents, that we shouldn’t only thank God when things go right, we should also thank him when things go wrong.
When things go wrong, we have the opportunity to grow. This is the mindset we want to give kids with this little musical.
“In all circumstances give thanks” (1 Thess. 5:18)
