Introducing Claritas Studios

Catholic Stories for Children is now Claritas Studios. Learn why we’ve rebranded and how the name reflects our growing mission to bring clarity through Christ-centered animation for all ages.

Why We’re Rebranding

When we first launched Catholic Stories for Children, our goal was to create beautiful, animated stories to help young children understand the Catholic faith. That mission hasn’t changed—but it’s grown.

Over time, we found that having “Stories for Children” in the name was limiting. It sometimes led people to assume that we were a book publisher. Moreover, as we began creating content for pre-teens, teens, and even families, we noticed that older viewers were less inclined to engage with a brand that sounded like it was “just for little kids.”

We needed a name that reflected our broader vision. A name that could grow with us.

Why Claritas?

We spent a long time searching for a name that would be the right fit. We had many brainstorming sessions, prayer sessions, spiritual reading sessions, and so much more.

We began asking others outside the company for their opinions and ideas for a new brand name.

We trying mixing different names, shortening, lengthening, creating new words. Nothing fit.

One day, during my Rosary group, in the middle of the mysteries, the person next to me leaned over and whispered one word, “Claritas,” then went back to praying.

That was it! The word we had been searching for that would become our brand!

I shared it with the team and they loved it as much as I did!

Diving deeper, from Saint Thomas Aquinas—claritas is more than just “clarity” in a modern sense. It refers to the radiance or inner brightness that reveals the true nature of a thing. According to Aquinas, claritas is one of the three transcendentals of beauty: integritas (wholeness), proportio (harmony), and claritas (splendor or intelligibility).

It’s the clarity of being—when something shines with what it truly is.

This reaches the heart of our mission.

Through animation, music, and story, we want to reveal the beauty of God’s truth in a way that resonates with hearts and minds of all ages. We want to help the next generation see the world more clearly through the light of Christ. Through these means, we aim to help people of all ages become saints.

From Stories to Studios

We’ll continue to produce beloved content for young children—but now we’re also expanding into new territory:

• Broadway-style musicals featuring saints.

• Short films that explore the richness of Catholic theology.

• Animations that speak to pre-teens, teens, and families alike.

All of it rooted in Christ.

What’s Next?

Our latest project, Saint Joseph: Songs of the Saints, brings this new identity to life. It features original music, bold animation, and a fresh approach to storytelling that embodies everything Claritas Studios stands for.
